Mixing metal and hip-hop isn't necessarily an easy thing to do but producer Rick Rubin and the Beasties pulled off one of the most stunning debuts ever. The album is fuelled through the boys' passion for subcultures, pop culture, jokes, and the intoxicating power of wordplay. Every song is a party jam, the use of rock riffs, breaks and basslines is genious and the attitude is unpretentious and punk. A truly ground breaking and fun record.
