Animals is a strange and dark album one that is hard to initially embrace yet winds up yielding many rewards. It's an album about the modern world that asks questions about the way we live, questions that we don't even ask anymore. The music is as bleak and bitter as that world view, The sound is bold blues rock guitar lines and hypnotic space rock textures and all the songs are extended pieces, yet they never drift and the album slowly ominously works its way toward its destination.
